Sr. Grand Master Len G. Kirschbaum, PhD, is a trailblazing martial artist and revered leader in the Taekwon-Do community. With a journey spanning over six decades, Kirschbaum began training in Chinese Kenpo in 1962, later expanding his expertise to Japanese Shotokan and Taekwon-Do. He achieved his TKD Black Belt in 1970 and has since risen to the pinnacle of martial arts excellence, attaining the 9th Degree Black Belt in Original Taekwon-Do and being honored with a 10th Degree by the International Martial Arts Association.
As a visionary founder of several influential organizations, Kirschbaum has made a lasting impact on the martial arts world. These organizations include the Wisconsin Taekwon-Do Federation, the North Central Instructors Black Belt Federation, the United States Taekwon-Do Commission, the International Original Taekwon-Do Federation (IOTF), the I-CAN self-defense System, Cane & Abled self-defense for seniors, and the Disabled Martial Artists of America (now the Disabled Martial Arts Alliance DMAA). Currently serving as President of the International Original Taekwon-Do Federation and CEO of the Disabled Martial Artists Alliance, Kirschbaum continues to inspire and guide generations of martial artists.
Kirschbaum's impressive achievements have garnered widespread recognition, including the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award and induction into the International Black Belt Hall of Fame. His dedication and contributions to the martial arts community have also earned him a nomination for the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.) Award by Grand Master Ted Gambardella.
Beyond his martial arts accomplishments, Kirschbaum is a devoted Freemason, having held various leadership positions, including Past High Priest of Lexington Chapter #1 of Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of Washington Council of Royal and Select Masons, and Eminent Commander of Webb Commandry of Knights Templar. Through his commitment to self-defense training and community development, Kirschbaum has cemented his legacy as one of the most respected figures in Original Taekwon-Do and the martial arts world.
